BHS Cross Country Campaign Page

BHS Athletics Supporter:
The BHS Cross Country (XC) team is one of the largest athletics programs at Ballard High School. A non-cut sport, we offer the opportunities for learning and personal growth that come through team sport to all interested students. In 2023, we had 87 students on our roster, all of whom get a chance to compete during the season!
BHS XC is perennially a top team in the Metro League and has qualified teams and individuals for the 3A State Championship (both Boys & Girls) for over 8 years in a row. Former athletes continue to compete at the NCAA level, and most importantly, continue to run and share the joy of their experiences as adults.
The success of the XC program and our athletes is a consequence of the environment the coaching staff can create: this is due to the tremendous community of family, friends, and donors that support us. We hope you will include yourself in our community.
SPS athletics are partially funded through the 3-year BTA Capital Levy (renewed 2022), but we fundraise to address shortfalls including bus transportation, uniforms, and stipends for coaches. Our staff is remarkable for a public high school, with all coaches involved as competitive athletes at various levels, and many maintaining USATF coaching certifications: the national standard for coaching education in XC. All our coaches give of their time and energy outside of their main jobs, and self-fund travel and training to deliver the highest quality of programming for the athletes.
Thank you for helping provide the opportunity for mental, emotional, and physical growth that only high school athletics can provide. Beaver XC is a stronger and more inclusive program because of your contribution. Please consider joining us at a meet this season, and seeing first-hand the unforgettable experiences you help create though donation.
Again: thank you.
Day Frostenson, Head Coach
