Dear Sponsor,

We would like to invite you to become part of our Ballard Track and Field family, among the most successful athletic teams at Ballard High School. Over the last 20 years, we have been among the top teams in the state placing 3rd in 2004, 2nd in 2005, 10th in 2018, and two 9th place team finishes in 2019! In the past decade, we have seen 20 school records fall! In 2019, Ballard brought 18 athletes to the State meet, a school record! In the 2022 season our boys team placed 13th at the state meet and last year in 2023 we sent 13 girls to state championship, which is the most in school history! Currently, there are former Ballard track athletes competing at colleges and universities at all levels around the country. Our success is, in large part, due to the generous support we have received from a great community of family and friends.

Seattle Public Schools provides fixed financial support for sports programs, and we are left on our own to try to put together effective programs for our students. One of our critical needs is to provide funding to pay for our coaches. We have a great staff that puts in countless hours for our kids. Great coaches make all the difference for our kids and our program. We have 14 coaches that spread themselves out over 18 track and field events. We have yearly costs that we need to fund to keep the team running. These include purchasing uniforms, paying for buses, and paying entry fees to invitational meets. Our team is the largest in the school and our numbers are over 175 athletes!

As a no cut, co-ed sport, our program provides Varsity-level sport experiences for many athletes who may not have such opportunity; at the same time, we have been able to grow into a State-ranked team, consistently bringing more than our share of state and nationally-ranked athletes to big meets.
